The Ticknor family important federal mahogany sideboard, attributed to Thomas Seymour, Boston, circa 1810-15.

 This sideboard features the flamboyant use of vibrant mahogany veneers and construction features associated with the shop of Thomas Seymour.  Robert Mussey has confirmed this attribution and a letter of verification accompanies the piece.  Additionally, this piece has a superb history of ownership including prominent Bostonian George Ticknor [1791-1871].  A Harvard professor and a founder of the Boston Public library he lived at the corner of Beacon and Park Street across from the capitol building in the famous Amory-Ticknor house, which stands today.
