Queen Anne tray top tea table, (Boston, Mass)
This finely proportioned tray-top tea table is a form distinctive to the New England. The abundant overhang to the top, bulbous scroll to the skirt and delicate cabriole legs add to the appeal. The table has a pleasing color with a fine mellow surface. The rectangular top has an applied dish molding above a shaped skirt with carved knee returns. The apron joins four finely formed legs that taper gracefully into pad feet. The piece retains the label of John Walton.
